Common Troubleshooting Solutions
Quick answers to the most frequent technical inquiries from artists.
1. Where are exported high-resolution drawings saved?
When you tap Export in ArtGrid, the app renders a full-fidelity image matching your original camera or downloaded photo resolution. Exports are saved to your device's standard media gallery under the album or folder titled Pictures/ArtGrid or DCIM/ArtGrid.
- Swipe down on your Gallery album list to trigger a media scan refresh.
- Check Android Settings > Apps > ArtGrid > Permissions and verify Photos and Videos permission is set to Allow.
2. How to restore Pro purchase on a new phone or tablet
If you purchased ArtGrid Pro or ad removal on a previous device, your license is permanently tied to your Google Play account:
- Verify that your device is logged into the same Google Play account used during the initial purchase.
- Open ArtGrid, tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top right.
- Under the General / Pro section, tap Restore Purchases.
- The Google Play Billing API will verify your receipt and restore your Pro status instantly without charging you again.
3. Low-Memory (RAM) devices & high-megapixel photos
ArtGrid employs a hardware-accelerated dual-tier rendering architecture:
- Interactive Canvas: Images are downsampled to a 2048px preview surface for silky 60fps pan, pinch, and zoom gestures without triggering Android Out-Of-Memory (OOM) crashes.
- Export Pipeline: Only when you press Export does ArtGrid process the full 4000×3000+ uncompressed bitmap, ensuring zero loss of detail on your final print.
- If your device has 2GB or 3GB of RAM and encounters slow responsiveness, close other running background apps before exporting ultra-large images.
4. Changing or withdrawing Ad Privacy / GDPR consent
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to change your ad personalization preferences at any time:
- Open ArtGrid and open the project screen or library.
- Tap the Settings icon > select the View tab.
- Tap Ad Privacy Preferences. This reopens the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) form where you can update or revoke consent.
